Not only does the BF2.3 pack enough punch to push a boat out to sea, it’s light enough to be carried back to the car. Thanks to the ergonomic carry handle fitted to each engine, the BF2.3 can be taken virtually anywhere. Despite the engine’s size, the BF2.3 boasts all the benefits of Honda’s advanced four-stroke technology, its one of the lightest 2.3HP four-strokes available – even lighter than most two-stroke outboards.

360 Rotation & Optimum Manoeuvrability

Get in and out of tight spots with ease, or go in any direction on the compass, with this extremely manoeuvreable engine. Just swing the tiller handle through 180˚ and spin the outboard and the boat goes backwards, allowing you to get to where you want to go efficiently. A twist grip throttle also allows for precise throttle control, while the throttle tensioner minimises driver fatigue.

Low Maintenance

Thanks to the transistor ignition, you’ll get maintenance-free, high-energy output for quick and easy starts with the BF2.3. The forced air-cooled engine also means there is no water pump to worry about being clogged with weeds or damaged by sand. The BF2.3’s Shallow Water Drive also allows you to run in shallow water and greatly reduces the risk of engine damage.

4-Front Corrosion Protection

Our lines of defence – we first anodise the aluminium casing with our patented ‘Double Seal’ process. Then an epoxy primer is applied before the shimmering silver paint. For further protection from UV rays, we apply a clear resin topcoat to finish. And to be absolutely sure, a sacrificial anode is fitted and all connectors are waterproof.

Twist and Go

The Honda BF2.3 comes standard with a centrifugal clutch. As a result, the engine is able to maintain a smooth idle and automatically engage the prop above idle speed when the throttle is advanced. It’s like having a neutral position.

Internal Fuel Tank

A 1L internal fuel tank facilitates easy removal and portability as one unit. The vent is able to be closed during transport or for extended storage periods. The engine can run for up to 55 minutes at full throttle on a tank of fuel.

The BF2.3 engine is the lightest in its class and is so easy to pick up. It’s easy to carry too, with an ergonomic handle positioned at the exact point of balance to allow you to walk normally without feeling any strain.
